Problem with Dimension Style

Having a problem with dimensions in paperspace with Autocad LT 2013 for mac. I've used Autocad LT for windows for several years, and prefer to do dimensions and annotations in paperspace. When I use existing dimensions (for 1/4" scale) the scale factor assigned is ignored and a random value is assigned. I've tried modifying the dimension style, and creating a new style, but it still occurs. When I check the properties of that dimension the scale factor is out of whack, and can't be changed. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks!
