Hi under Win XP plus Acad 2006/2011 I could use the "Windows desktop Search" from MS Explorer with AutoCAD IFilters to find strings (also DWG Props) in DWGs, without usage of AutoCAD. Now I searched under Microsoft technet and here, what I found is: - The link to JTBWorld is from year 2005 - The link to Cadstudio shows me Design Review which is an additional software and will be dead soon (?) - Other links show me solutions inside AutoCAD - Microsoft says that XP will be dead, and Windows Desktop search will be cancelled under Win 8 - My standard Win7-search (with installed AutoCAD) finds nothing So, again my question from the title of this posting: - What is the current "State of the Art" for iFilter and DWG under Win7? - Are there components based on AutoCAD? - Is it compulsory to purchase an external product? - ...??? Regards Peter
