In playing around with AutoCAD I have started using the veiwbase command and I have had a couple really weird things happen and am hoping I can get some help with working through them. I am working with 3D solids in model space and am trying to use viewbase to do the dimensioning. 1. I have successfully made the viewbase command work, but a couple times it will show an empty red box that is centered on the bottom left corner of the page in paperspace. I have been trying to figure out why it happened and if I missed a step so I re-tried it and the red box kept showing up. After a short break I came back and tried the viewbase command again and it worked. Does anyone have an idea as to what I did or didn't so? 2. Because I have multiple drawings on a single page, I often have different parts of my drawing in different layers. I have one viewbase on the paper and dimensioned it and when I turn that layer off, the dimensions become un-associated with the points that they snapped to. Previously when I had been using viewports, if I turned the layer off the dimensions would not have this problem. Does anyone know if there is a way to keep the dimensions associated and not have this problem? Thanks,
