checking whether a polygon is closed or not

Hi,

We use CAD designs for the purpose of Scanning Electron Microscope pattern writing, and we need to make patterns/polygon (with arbitrary shape) but need to make sure that the polygons are closed. Normally, you start from one point, and when you go back you find AutoCAD (2007) has placed a square around your final (first) point so that you connect to it and then your polygon is closed.

But it seems that sometimes if your mouse is not in the exact center of the aforementioned square then you will not be connected to that point, but to a very close point.

Our solution is that whenever we want to connect to the final (first) point we'll zoom in tens of times so we make sure 100% we are going to the squarfe and no where else.

I was wondering whether there is any way in AutoCAD to check whether any polygon is open or closed?
