Grid lines color won't change by layer

Hi,

In AutoCAD Civil 3D, I created UTM grid lines using the Layout tab, reference system button, things work fine but when I try to change the color of the lines by layer, the color of the lines stay the same. I doubled check and make sure that the lines were set to by layer, but nothing happened.

Below is an image of the Reference system tool i used to create the grid lines.

Any helps would be appreciated.
