Save the current view as a file

In acad 2012. I have a panel layout drawing with lots of different component that are block. ie selector switch, pushbuttons. Each of these blocks have a shape on a particular layer within them for the laser cutter. If I turn of all layers expect the one for the laser cutter I have a image on my screen which is an exact representation for the laser cutter.

Now the problem: When importing this file to the laser cutter the program see all layer even if the are off. We don’t want to explode all the blocks to remove the items that don’t pertain.

So I am looking for a way to save what I see on the screen with all but one layer off to a .dwg file. There by eliminating blocks.

Any Ideas?
