Copying Lines between files using design center

I need help using design center to copy linework between files. Every time I use it to copy layers from one file to another, the layers come into the file but don't have any of the linework. Is there a setting I need to enable or will design center not copy lines only layers/blocks and such?

If there is a better way to copy linework between files (aside from copyclip/copy functions) please let me know
