tagging model objects in layout

Hello,

I want to add tags in paper space using automatic field that recalls an object's name.

trying to tag model 3d objects viewed in layout viewports, in the regular way I know that it's impossible to select objects located in the model space while being in paper space.

tried another solution using 'create view' commands like viewbase (Layout tab), but still no selectable objects.

tried, as well, adding extra data to an object using xdata command. but can't export this data to an excel file or a table.

any suggestions?
