Scaling viewports with carlson survey 2007

Hi I am using Carlson Survey 2007.  I am having trouble scaling my viewports.  I have followed the tutorial "Making a Plat" that is included in the manual that talks briefly about chossing the correct plotting scale.  I have also seen some tuorials about how to scale a viewport, althought there is not too much info out there that pertains to carlson 2007 that I can find.  My plotter can only print up to 13"x19" so the scales that I would be looking to plot would be 10, 20, 30,1/16, etc.

I would apprecaite any help, thoughts, comments, tricks, on this matter.
