Dear Community,
We have purchased a brand new CAD Workstation of the following spec, and are having woeful performance issues in AutoCAD 2014.
Workstation spec : HP Z420 Workstation running Windows 7 64-Bit, Xeon E5-1620 / 3.6 GHZ with Nvidia K4000 GPU and 32GB RAM.
Essentially I have tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps to ensure the Workstation has the latest, BIOS, Windows Updates and all other relevant drivers. I have tried various different Nvidia GPU drivers, including the version indicated as certified for the K4000 on the Autodesk Website. Current GPU driver NVIDIA Driver Release - Quadro/Tesla Desktop - 307.45 64bit [9.18.13.745]. Hardware Acceleration is enabled and Performance Tuner is set to the recommended levels. I have run DXDiag which shows everything working as it should. I have also ran 3DMark to test 3D performance outside of AutoCAD and this ran well.
We have tried with various models, and all perform badly. 2D wireframe performance is very fast, but as soon as you ask it to do anything 3D it is really woefully slow. In fact during testing we turned off Hardware Acceleration, and the performance was equal if not slightly better than with it turned on!
We also tried AutoCAD 2013 and again poor performance is retained.
For some reason the certified "NVIDIA Driver Release - Quadro/Tesla Desktop - 307.45 64bit [9.18.13.745]" driver is still showing up as "Your machine contains a 3D Device that is not certified"
Be grateful for any ideas with this one. Log files attached.
Best regards
Robert.
