Can someone tell me how to restore my settings after a reset?

I was not able to use the base view due to a program issue. We did a reset and my custom settings were put into a zip file. We ended up needing a patch for windows 8 and now I'd like to put my custom settings back in. How do I do it? Thank you for your help
