_Why always changing things?

In versions prior to AutoCAD 2015, there was an option to hit [Alt], then the pulldown-menus were showing an underlined character,
then you could visualize the desired pulldown, where all the functionality was once again underlined in one character.
This seems to be lost in AutoCAD 2015, Why?
I'm publishing a book for 15+ years now and I always have to change the content, Why?
It does no cost more to maintain these kind of things.
