I have this problem often when making dynamic blocks and cannot find a solution. I understand what's happening but not why? I am trying to make a single course brick in section view with a Linear Parameter/Array Action. The problem only happens when trying to add dynamic features to an existing block file. Here's the issue....
1. I created a wblock called Brick 1C.dwg. Basepoint was chosen inside the wblock command. I opened that file and added the dynamic features, tested it and it worked fine. I inserted that file into a new drawing and the block geometry was shifted from the basepoint and dynamic features. See file Brick 1C Shifted.dwg. In the block editor, it appears the dynamic features are staying at the drawing 0,0 and objects are staying at the basepoint chosen during the wblock creation. I moved the model objects to meet the dynamic features saved and saved as back to master file Brick 1C.dwg. Re-inserted Brick 1C.dwg into another new file and the changes did not stick. Things still shift when master file is inserted.
2. I redrew everything from scratch in a new file, started with lower left corner of the mortar at 0,0 for my basepoint, everything works fine.
The problem seems to be using an existing file or block which was not created at 0,0. Any thought?
Thanks.
