AuctoCAD 2011 Command line active even when application.visible = false

I have a process that extracts a text out of a bunch of files daily, it runs on my computer and I set .visible = false because autoCAD grabs the focus every time it opens a new file. In 2005 this worked fine, however since we upgraded to 2011, the focus still switches to AutoCAD, even when it is not visible. Once it has the focus any typed text ends up in the command line. This is particually annoying since having a partially entered command also suspends the running VBA code.
