We're in the process of updating our document/file management system. We're trying to find a way to include "meta data" with our files (designer, project name, project type etc).
My first thought is to use the custom properties in the dwg file. But we need users that do not have access to acad to be able to search for files based on the meta data. I you have reason to believe that we should use some other storage medium for this meta data, we're open to hearing that too.
What programming environment would you use for such a task? Where would you store this meta data?
