I have seen quite a few problems with zooming in and out with the mouse wheel. I prefer this method over issuing a specific zoom or pan command. My problem is that after a while it bogs down. It never happens while I am in the Model layout, only while in paper space model views which are locked. At first everything is fine. What I noticed recently however is that when I select an Xref and right click to open and edit it, when I come back to the drawing zooming in and out with the wheel causes a switch to paper space and back to model space with each rotational increment of the wheel, whereas before it just zoomed in and out. Switching between paper space and model space causes the zooming to be painfully slow. My question is does this sound like a memory leak? since it is fixed by closing down AutoCAD and restarting. I've noticed this problem with all versions of AutoCAD after version 2011. Would anyone know how this could be fixed without restarting AutoCAD? It does not matter which operating system or how much RAM, it happens with all.
