Macro for changing layers and their entities in the model colors I designate.

I am needing a macro that when I click the button it will go through and change a specific layer that I designate to a predetermined color. Then in turn change the all model entities on that layer the same color. I was able to do some research on the internet and wrote one that allows me to run the macro, select an entity, then right click, and it changes the entity color based on the order of colors I put in the macro. But when I do so, it still leaves the layer color white in the Layer Properties Manager. I don't have any experience writing lisp files or script files and when I researched it, I couldn't make heads or tails of any of it. I appreciate any help with this. Thank you in advance.
