Hello, I am trying to create a quality image from a DWG drawing. I have tried using "Publish to the Web - JPG" but I am not having great results. Not really clear. I have also tried JPGOUT at the command prompt with poor results. There must be a better way to do this?

I have been working with the free trial for a few days now, and every time upon closing a file, the program crashes. Has anyone experienced this? And if so, will the bug be fixed by the time the subscription update comes out?
Also, I have been working with version 2008 for the last 7 years (I know, I know...get with the times, right?), so I'm trying to get up to speed with what new features there are. Again, after working with 2015 for a few days, it seems as though the program has so many "upgrades" that it is getting bogged down, and I am not able to draft as quickly. What settings can I change so that the program can keep up with my fingers? I have already turned off the hatch preview and command preview, and that has helped greatly, but I'm sure that there are more things I can turn off.
Is there a reason why, when loading a previously created .dsd file, the publish location no longer goes to the location saved in the .dsd file? It defaults to a folder in "my documents" instead, and each time I have to re-link the published file to the correct location. I have searched the help menu and online to find the place to change the setting, but I'm having no luck. It's not a huge deal...just annoying.
We have a customer who wants us to convert one of our AutoCAD 3D models to .SDN format (Steel Detailing Neutral format). I am not familiar with the software they are using, SmartPlant 3D 2009.1 . I also understand that they also use Bentley Structural and ProSteel as well.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Original File is AutoCAD 2012 .dwg format, 117,285 kb in size.

I am dealing with an issue in my company where DWG TrueView has been installed prior to an AutoCAD installation. When TrueView is uninstalled the file associations do not default to AutoCAD. When a .dwg file is opened it simply flags an error as the system is looking for TrueView. In the registry there does not show to be any program occupying the *.dwg extention. I have written a batch file to silently remove TrueView but would like to add a silent repair of AutoCAD LT to this as this redefines the associations so AutoCAD will open these files. I would then deply this through BigFix to the affected clients.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you ahead of time for any help.
Hey y'all, can someone tell me how to find the different categories for different forums? I should be putting this with dynamic blocks but I don't know how.
I have some blocks that were originally dynamic but I removed the dynamic properties. It was a visibility states dynamic, I first deleted all the objects on the other visibility states, then deleted the visibility states themselves, leaving just the first one. Then I highlighted the arrow and "visibilty 1" action and deleted those. Then I used _blockicon.
After all this, the blocks still preview with a lightning bolt, as if they were still dynamic. What am I missing?
I can't use my copy with base point command nor can I group items. My co worker is able to do these commands on his computer however I cannot. Please help

Just posting in case someone else Googles this problem. I have a user on AutoCAD 2010 who complained that it would not start up, and instead would freeze with a grey interior window space. I started playing with the registry, and changed HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\MC3\MC3OptIn DWORD value to 0, and the application now starts fine.
Im currently studying and am eligable for the student software, however every time i try to download it in step 3 review and download nothing happens the install button doesnt light up.
I need some help reducing file sizes down from an original drawing of 50+mbs and 108 layouts.
I have found 3 different lisp routines to export every layout of a drawing into their own drawings but they all do the same thing.
What I am finding is that all lisps will copy all of the model space contents and paste it into the new drawing and then have a single layout. This only reduces the file size by about 8mbs.
What I was wondering is if there is something out there that would copy the objects/layers that are active in the viewports of the current layout only and create a new drawing. This would reduce the file size down to 0-2mbs and be more managable for our clients.

Hi! I am using AutoCAD 2012 and I'm trying to create a custom paper size, but I am not being sucessfull. The printer is a HP Deskjet 1220c. I added the custom paper size in the Windows printer server, but the created paper size don't show up in AutoCAD. Also, the option in AutoCAD to add a custom paper size is disabled. How can I proceed?

If my drawing is in a known grid co-ordinate system (Ordnance survey UK) and I select this grid co-ordinate system under "geographic location" then why do I need to give it a geographic location point in both systems?
I have tried doing the conversion manually and giving it one point in both systems. I have also tried picking a feature and locating it this way.
Both ways the bing aerial photos only fit in one place - a few km away and the are significantly out.
More of a design question, may not belong here;
would the bevel gear jack apply more force if mounted directly above center point of jaw?
I have it mounted to side with cam followers to hold alignment.
I see no loss of applied force, but I'm not an engineer ...
Hello I am having the following issue. Any help would be apreciated. I am running AutoCad 2013 on a Windows 7 laptop. I have used several different versions of Autocad for many years, but am now trying to learn it properly and using the AutoDesk Official Training Guide " Mastering AutoCad 2013.
This issue showed up in chapter 11.
I have an issue when trying associate text with drawing properties. When I insert a field under Field category: I pick Objects and then In Field Name: I pick "namedobject". Under Named Object: Type I pick Block and then under Name: I pick the block I want, but under the name area there are #### and the Format: area is empty.

Hi all,
Upon selecting several layers in the Layer Properties Manager, then trying to say... freeze the selected layers, THEN turn the selected layers off, the Layer Properties Manager will lose the previous selection before you can do the second icon press. This necessitates the user to having to select the entire layer selection all over again. It was not like this in previous versions.
Can someone with AutoCad 2015 check to see if this is the case with their installation?

My office was having the huge-files-from-Microstation problem. We downloaded the DGNPURGE fix and it's working OK. Takes longer for drawings 10,000KB and larger.
Problem is basic users don't process all the drawings, so some huge ones squeak by.. Then they copy from those drawings onto dgnpurged ones, and then those become huge..
Hopefully in future versions they'll have a quicker fix. Consultants sending drawings have not been cooperative purging in advance. Some drawings reach 35,000KB, 50,000KB and more and become unusable.
Once in a while the DGNPURGE doesn't work and then a "Null object" box pops up - what is a null object- is there some way to delete it so the DGNPURGE can continue?
Another solution to reduce drawing size is to WBLOCK the entire drawing - but I don't like to recommend that because all references have to be fully detached and all laywers thawed and turned on. Could be easy to leave stuff out.

When selecting "insert" - "set location", the dialogue box to pick the geolocation from map is black and unresponsive even though i am logged in to 360. Is there a problem with the bing map service? i am on LT 2015. It also gives me the same black box if i go to help online.
