Editing fields coordinates spot height can i lock it?

Hi,

 

I am using block with spot height (edited field) to show me my spot height...(Pic added)

When i have a paper (example two joist) and i have to move them one by one perpendicular my spot height (edited field) is changing....

I have to move to block and edit it then make a base spot....

With a alot of joist it can slower my drawing...

Is it possible to just "lock" this editing field and when i move it up and down - is it possible that coordinates won't change?

I know its a abit complicate what i wrote (added two pictures to make it easier), but anyone can say it is even possible?

autocad 12 Crash/fail to boot

this instance of '12 has been running perfectly for months, and this afternoon when I attempted to move from 2d to 3d it threw an unhandled exception & fatal error. I restarted the machine but acad won't restart. It just kind of hangs there. What causes this, and do I have to reinstall?

Also, I sent an error message to autodesk, who sent me an automated email about a maintenance update being available, which also fails to load when you click the link (internal server error). Are these related? It's very strange for all of this to happen at once.

Can't install AutoCAD LT 2015 on Windows 7

If anyone can help that would be great.

I've been running Autocad Lt 2008  - but recently I began having problems due to the latest updates from window.

I was no longer able to edit lines and zoom in.

I tried getting a patch - but that did nothing because 2008 is no longer supported.

Next step is/was to up-grade to 2015 - I download the trial version - I really need to get up and running due to major deadlines.

The product did download - but I am unable to get it installed. AutoCad LT 2015 FAILED "An error occurred while installing this product."

I've tried everything - from downloading from virtual assistant. Turned off all virus and firewalls. Did the windows clean-up thing they suggested. And also The AutoDesk Binding Hot Fix Utility which said already up dated - There is no need to install this fix.

 

I also tired to find a "Live Chat" but could not.

Every time I did a search for my problems all the same topics came up and none where able to help.

 

If anyone can help that would be great - or if anyone knows where Live Chat is please direct me. I have been dealing with this issue for the 29 hours and have not been able to get anywhere.

Oh and the best part is that when I try and open AutoCad LT 2008 - it is now asking for a product key code.

Plotting muli-page PDF

please advise on print/publish creating a pdf with acrobatpro11...it must be one pdf with multiple pages or tabs printed within. I have adjusted acrobat reader in publish options to "multifile sheet" and the out come is multiple individual pdf files. I have adjusted publishcollate and set it to 1, but still the out come is multiple individual pdf files. I need the publish command to print pdf all drawings into a single pdf file...please help. thank you

The untouchable PLine

Hello All,

 

I have made a pline through some schedules to remind myself to make some changes. Today when I opened the drawings to delete them as I made the changes, I can't select any of them. They don't print on paper but they are still visable. I've purged, audited, flattened (even though it's all 2D) and purged but nothing has happened.

 

Any suggestions on how to be able to select it again?

Problem running setup.exe file

Hello

 

I downloaded AutoCAD 2015 and 2014 (cause i had an error running the setup.exe file, but the same error occured with the 2014 version).

The error that occured can you see as an image.

I downloaded both 32 and 64 bit options.

 

My specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit

Intel Core i7-2630QM 2 GHz processor

4 GB RAM

 

If somebody is able to help me, that'd be great

Design Tools toolbar missing off AutoCAD 2012

Hope you can help.

 

I have recently download a student version of AutoCAD 2012 and the Design Tools toolbar is missing. I use this with my students when we do 3D CAD as it has the cavity walls, wndows, doors etc load onto them. I am stuck and in desperate need of some help.

Multifunction bar disappeared

Good evening everybody,

 

My multifunction bar (on Autcad 2014) the one on the top where you have "groups" in which you directly choose command by icons such as line, etc... disappeared. I tried to make it appears again but it says :"no tabs or groups loaded on the multifunction bar".
what should i do?

Title block´s linetype changed after creating new layout from template

First of all,sorry for my bad English,and I´m very new to Autocad 2014 (about 3 days or so).

I´ve created a template file with title block,borders with many linetypes.Then I made a new draw from that template and had two problems:

 

1.Open without template: all the linetypes of my titleblock,borders changed to default,even the textfont. And I can´t edit them.

 

2.Open with template: everything is ok,except that dash_dot line is used in all of my orthographic projection views. And I still can´t edit them.

 

 

Could anyone help me please? Thank you. P/S: I projected my 3D object from Model Space.

archicad on mac

hi i am new to using autocad and i am interested in buying a macbook pro 13inch. i'm not sure if a mac will run autocad well but i need something small as i am a student and it will make carrying around easier and it also has to run autocad well. could i get some recommendations on whether mac will be able to run autocad or any other type of laptop suitable. Also are there any good youtube channels or books that can go through the basic autocad for beginners. thanks.

Too many Columns in my Data Link Table

I created a table from a excel data link. When i ran the table command it came in with 8 columns instead of the 6 that is in my excel file. How can i get rid of the last two columns. The area in the ribbon for deletion of columns is not active. Is there something i need to do in excel? My table style is set for 5 columns.

Annotative Scaling someone help.

So in searching for a few days what Ive found is that most people dont know annotative and how to use it. So I couldnt find an answer. 

 

but basically I have a very simple drawing and Im new to this so bare with me although Ive tried everything. 

 

model space simple draw evertyhing 1 to 1 full size. 

 

I then select viewport and chose the size I want to view the piece Ive drawn. simple.

 

model space has a selector bottom right for annotative scale for your items although alot of people think its for your drawing objects. 

 

either way I chose the item text or demensions and select the annotative scale I want to use which matches my viewport scale. 

 

my text height for all my selections is 1/8. my annotative is clicked on and everything is set up. 

 

and bam my text shrinks like no bodies business. 

 

now ive read someone said well just increase your text height. well I can do that to 1/2" and its fine but is that what we are supposed to do? 

 

I will attach my drawing and its at 1/8 paper text height. Im working in archtect units.

I have this problem every time I want to draw or copy/paste, it just traces where ever I move the cursor. However when I click on the point it all goes away, leaving whatever I want to draw.

Trial vs Student version

I recently want to check out AutoCad, and being in High School I wasnt going to have my parents give up $4,000 just for a computer program. So I downloaded the 30-day trial promised a fully functional program just cut off at a deadline. Until I learned the trial only gives you 2-d options, rendering the whole program practically useless as I have MS paint for free to draw things in 2d. Hungry for options I found out about the Student package, so I also downloaded that. Soon to learn that it gaave the same results. So the real question is: Does the trial or student version have 3D capabilities hidden to me somehow? Or do I just have to deal with it and try and mooch off of a friend with full AutoCad? Before anyone responds with "have you tried using extrude commands, etc." I tried multiple surface and 3 D commands but none worked and the 3D tools tab does not exist.

Running 2015 Auto cad error message

So im a student and am trying to instal and run autocad 2015 but after it downloads I get getting this message.Ive read other things online as to how to fix this but havent had any success any thoughts?

Xref default location

When I try to attach xref, it goes to the "My documents" directory. Instead I need to go to "last directory" as default. How I can change it?

I'm using AutoCAD 2010.

Any suggestions appreciated...

autocad 2015 Freeze on every modify command

anyone can help me please. 

with i7 3.4 gHz 16gb ram 

graphic card quadro 4000

autocad 2015 freeze on every modify command. expecially when I work on 3D drawing. ..The only way out from the freeze is control+alt+del

It s been long time to find the problem....but till now there is no solution.
