Deleting multiple layouts

1)
I have to clean up 1000 FWG Filmes with euch 50-100 Layouts. Only One Layout will be kept in a dwg file.
What is the fastes Way to do this?
I know with Ctrl i can select them, but this will Take forever...
2)
In the modelspace i have to erase everything that is Not on the One Layout. So far i have market with a line in the Layout which items i Need to keep.
Any Other solutions?

The WORST sketchups ever (pic included) how do i deal with this??

OK, so i have 8 houses with 3 floors a piece that I need to draft up in cad.

 

The guy who took the measurements gave me 24 sketches of 24 floors that look like this.

.

 

The problem is that when I add up all of the measurments on adjacent walls, they are different. 

 

How can I make something that is supposed to be a rectangular object in cad when walls are different specs?

 

Its hard to see in the picture. Does anybody know what I mean? Have you ever had to draft something that doesnt add up logically?

 

Is there an option in cad to make a lopsided house??????

 

The left side is 34'11'' and the right side is 33'7''

How to export attributes of multiple blocks from multiple layouts ?

Guys please, let me get this thing straight. I don't want to use external plugins, applets. All i want to do is to change some of the attributes of my blocks in each sheet that's all. I'm using only one block for each layout (sheet). So when i try to export attributes i see that i can't select blocks (objects) from multiple layouts. 

 

So what is the solution to this. I'm planning to export attributes of my blocks from all the sheets and then i will open that txt file in excel to modify. At the end i will import those attributes back. 

 

I can do this thing in model space but in paperspace in sheets, it is really frustrating. Someone please share a lean, easy to understand instruction. 

 

Ps: Do not forget, not applet no add in, no plugin no script or autolisp if it's possible

It writes :
Command: _viewsection
Unable to perform the requested action. This drawing was last edited with model documentation in a newer version of AutoCAD.

Please help,

Solid Is Empty - AutoCAD Message

I recently had a problem when using soldraw and received the message Solid Is Empty and it failed to genrate the view.

Having researched the problem I written about it and published a function to remove the problem objects.

Thought I would hsare this here in case others have the same problem Click here for my solution.

installing autocad 2000 on win7

i have an old autocad 2000 installed version on an old computer with xp.
i want to install it on a new win7 computer.

 

1. should it work?
2. i don't have the copy of the installation - i do have the ser num + plug and details of the purchse.
how can i get the installation?

crash when publish to png (or any other file)

When trying to create a png or jpg I get an error, or Autocad crashes.

Cashes with every file I use, even with new drawings made without using a template.

Changing the size of a 3d object by the dimension > after roughly drawing it

Invisible Objects

Here is a strange one...

 

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this drawing database.

There are a few objects in this drawing, 3d solids, that are invisible.  They are not an xref, are not on a turned off/ frozen layer, and are not turned invisible. I can confirm they are present by using gile's ZH tool (e.g. zh with 1076f90d13983).  I can also see they are present using the MGDDBGSNOOPDB command from the MGDDBG utility...

 

Any ideas??

 

(Win7 Pro, AutoCAD2014)

Adding fields in tables

Hi everyone,

 

Have an issue in adding area fields in a table. I'm working on a project and need to calculate the areas for different regions per floor and then sum them up at the end. I drew polylines per region and linked them to a field in the table. Now I'm trying to sum them up, but I get hashtags. Does anyone know how that can be fixed or have another way of doing what I'm doing?

 

Also, when I'm trying to copy an area field from one cell to another it gives me hashtags as well. Any way to fix it?

 

P-S: each level polylines can be accessed through the layerstates manager.

How to edit multiple blocks

Hello every one, I am converting some old drawings to new one. I want change many line layers inside many blocks. In detail, I want to filter by line color in many blocks without opening each block. So that I can change all the lines to single layer. Can anyone help me.

Options keep resetting

Hey everyone - 

 

I'm working on a basic plumbing layout, I recently moved to my old coworker's computer and every single time I select anything, object grouping turns on and it messes with a lot of things I need to do. Every time I go into option, selection, and uncheck that box, hit apply and ok, and boom, the instant I do anything, everything's grouped again. I've tried shutting AutoCAD down and restarting, tried restarting the entire computer, tried saving under a different file name as well. Nothing worked. I've attached a screenshot or 2 to show you exactly what I mean.

 

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem or know what may be causing this one?

need help with plotting in autocad

hello, so im hoping someone can help me. since i cant post this to the correct board im posting it here. im using autocad 2000i with windows 7 that we just recently switched to(windows 7). eversince, my e-size dwgs have all been printing 2:1 scale. some even 4:1 !! so when i go to plot, i have to choose half scale on most of the e-size files otherwise they come out double the size and it requires me to babysit the plotter. my dwgs are drawn at 1:1 and the viewport scale is correct. even when i go into the windows plotter settings there isnt anything unusual that stands out. for the record its only the e-size dwgs. if anyone can help out that would be awsome. thank you

Apply master drawing edits to other sheets

Hey everyone,

I am currently working on a project that is posing new challenges and forcing me into areas of AutoCAD I have never used before and I am currently stuck.

 

I have a building master that has machinery, electrical, plumbing, offices, etc. and I want to make this drawing easily readable and accessable to other engineers to quickly get the information they need. I made a sheet set that has seven sheets (1. master 2. floorplan 3. machinery.... 7. safety and emergency) but a problem I am running into is that if I edit my master, those updates are not coming through in the other drawings. Essentially I want each drawing to apply their edits back and forth to the others.

 

Apologies if this does not make much sense or I did a poor job explaining my problem, I appreciate any advice offered!

Need help on connecting blocks based on conditions.

Hi everyone, I am currently trying to create a fast way to edit/change my drawing accordingly to the required specs without having to go back and change each item manually. For example, if I have the same product line with different options on it, according to what the customer needs, the product's components will be changed accordingly. Right now I have to pull out reference drawings and change things manually one by one. I am thinking if there is any way I can create my own library of named parts and assign locations for each type. Then when I have the cutomer's spec, I can just input that information and autocad will automatically pull al lthe parts I need and automatically arrange them in assigned locations. 

This will be extremely helpful for me! so I would greatly appreciate if there're any expert that could help me on this.

icons on the menu bar

I am trying to create some icons on the menu bar... for lock, unlock, freeze, unfreeze, etc and I can't figure out how to do it.  I was able to do it in AutoCAD 2012,, but we have upgrade to 2015....and now i'm stuck.

HOW DO I ADD OBJECTS TO AN ARRAY?

I have created an array that I want to modify by adding additional objects to it. How is this done? I have searched high and low, back and forth, up and down and every which way to answer this and I can't find anything that says if you can do this, or can't do this. If the only answer is to rearray everything with the additional objects included I will jam another poison dart in my autocad voodoo doll and move on I suppose.
