Autocad on acid or LSD or something... or the axis plan has rotated on me?
It seems as though my drawing plane has somehow rotated on the y axis. Wierd, wierd stuff happening:
-If I draw a circle, it draws an oval on the screen (skinny and tall).
- If I measure something (using distance command) up and down, it measures accurately. If I measure something left-to-righ, it says it is about 70% the real length.
- All dimensions (using the DIMLINEAR command) are mirrored and about 70% the normal width (looks like I am adjusting the width factor).
- If I rotate anything on the screen, it completely disappears and shows up somewhere else in model space... far, far away.
- I copied (CTRL-C) the work I have done (4 hours of house plans that look normal) into a new drawing, and when I paste it, it shows up backwards and scrunched up.
Been designing for 19 years... never experienced anything like this. Did I accidentally hit some sort of axis tilt button?
All the walls, doors, windows, etc look okay... the stuff I already did is fine. But anything I try to add now doesn't work quite right.
Any suggestions?

Deleting old printers
Hi Community,
I know this seems like a question that has been raised before and I have read many posts trying to solve this myself. Unsuccessfully.
When i attempt to print I have an old printer that comes up as the defualt, despite being uninstalled. I have tried to set my new printer as the defualt output on the plot and publish page, this has not worked. I have gone to the plotter manager to try and find and delete the printer there, it does not exisit or appear. I have tried creating a plotter for my new printer and switching off the system printers on the plot and publish page. It still tells me it cant find the old printer and reverts back to none. Can anyone help please?

Where do we ask questions about how this Forum works?
I'm sure there is a place for this, but I can't find it. So if I need to be redirected, please redirect.
What I want to know is how to change the name that shows on my profile name on the left side of this page. It currently has an old email from when I was a realtor many years ago, and I don't want that to be there. I have gone through EVERY SINGLE TAB in the 'Edit Accounts' area, and there is no place to change this. I am going crazy trying to figure it out.
And advice?

AutoCAD on Mac ??
I'm taking a class in AutoCAD and I own a macbook pro base model. The question is I'm thinking of installing windows on my Mac using bootcap and then installing student version of AutoCAD on the windows partition of my Mac . I want to do this just to get a leg up on the class and practice at home . what do you hlguys think can my Mac handle the software have any of you done this![]()

Producing drawings from a solid model
I am using Autocad Mechanical 2011.
I think I have a basic workflow problem where I'm missing the boat a bit. I like to build everything via solid model, and then use the provided Layout tools to insert base, projected, and sectional views. All of this works great!
BUT!! There are many times where I want to throw in a contruction line of some sort. Perhaps simply a Point that I can pick a dimension from that is not represented by any artifact of a solid. I am finding this difficult to do. I don't want additional "drafting only" objects like this cluttering up my 3D. I'm also finding that when I try to select a point (for example) and make it part of the base view, the point doesn't show up! It seems that only 3D objects show up.
So, what do I do? By trying to keep my 3D model "clean", it seems to severely hampers my ability to produce decent shop drawings.
Any thoughts?

Dimension Direction
Hi
I have one Line and I want to give Dimension to it.When I select Line user should be asked to give Dimension on the line or down the line.
as per the user conformation I need to draw the Dimension.
Anyone can help me how to achieve this ?
Note: Line can be horizontal or vertical.Dimension needs to be parallel of that line.

Dimensions in layout not right
Hi Guys!,
I have an upcomign meeting and havign so much trouble with my dimensions.
In the layout the dimensions are showing 20mm(0") for the slab height, while the correct dimension is 3270mm (after match property), but the alternate (inch) unit is not correct.i tried every option with 'Multiplyier for alt units', nothing seeam to work.
I have to alter the scale from another file and then match property with the current file, still the altternate unit is not displaying correctly.
Much help needed.

Parametric Constrain 2 Blocks

I wonder if anybody knows how to parametric constrain two dynamic blocks together, so that if you dynamically stretch the one block,

Empty EPS Plot
Hi!
I´m using Autocad 2015 and Photoshop CS5.
I created, according to guidelines, an EPS Plotter (Postscript level 1), when i launch Plot command everythings go fine, i also see the preview of the plot.
Then i save the Eps file and it´s totally blank, the files´weight is always the same (7 kB) and when i place it into Photoshop ( or i open it) it´s alway empty..
Can someone help me?

2014: When scaling down a layout 1000x, dimensions stay enlarged
So I received an architect's layout and it's in millimetres, and we need it in metres. I'm aware that you can xref in layouts and shrink them down 1000x, or have them auto-shrink when AutoCAD detects a difference between the units, and my AutoCAD does this, but for whatever reason, people on different PCs don't always have their AutoCAD do this, so I've been asked to save a version of the architect's layout and srhink it down about the origin point.
Now the architect had some stupid override so when I shrunk it down, the dimensions were massive and most of them read "0" on the ends of massive extension lines. I deleted the override and in the dimension style, I set the overall scale to 0.001. Usually this fixes it but this time it didn't.Ii shrunk the text style down by 1000x also, which fixed the text, but the extension lines (or some other line) is still 1000x too large. So I went through and manually changed all the lines etc. to 1000x less than what they were before. I also kept the overall scale at 0.001, so now the dimensions should have shrunk down 1 million times, but they haven't.
They seem stuck at 1000x too large for just one line, and the dimension is so distorted, I can't even tell what line it is. Please see attached file, where I've copied one dimension into a blank space, and please see a screenshot of what I'm sure you've all seen in the past.
Any ideas how to fix this dimension problem?

Problem with instalation of AutoCAD
Hi,
I am trying to install a new student version of autocad because my old 3 years licence has expired but every time during the final part of installation a failure appears. I deleted all of the old programs conected with Autodesk, allowed firewall and dont know what to do next 
. Does anybody can help me with that ? I tried all versions 2014,2015,2016.

Leaders Problem
Hello!!
I had a question, and hoping someone on here would be able to help me.
My coworker was working on a drawing, in which he had made a leader for tagging equipment throughout the drawing. Everything was fine, but then all of the sudden, the leader was not connecting to the arrowhead (the arrowhead we used for this case was a dot). So the dot is not connected to the line leading to the tag. The client does not like this, and we were wondering if there was a way to fix this. He went into the settings for the leader, and everything was normal.
I have provided a picture, for whom ever to see what the problem is..
How do we get the dots to reconnect to the whole tag?? PLEASE HELP! Thank you!!

mleader text grips missing
Grips (paragraph/indent arrows) on mtext created within a multileader have gone missing, on ALL drawings, new and old, in both Pspace and Mspace. To change the width of a text block I now have to manually type in returns and deletes in the body of the text. Grips on the leader/arrow itself of mleaders are still active. Grips on regular MText are still there and working. Not sure if this is connected or not, but suddenly the ChangeSpace command seems to have gone haywire also - in that the item disappears in the new space. What happened and can I fix it?
